Paul Mather

Paul, who trained as an Industrial Designer at the Wellington Polytechnic School of Design and has a post graduate diploma in Business and Administration from Massey University, has worked as a development specialist in sectors as diverse as Rehabilitation Engineering, Stainless Steel Manufacturing and Commercial Furniture.

Projects worked on have involved the development of products, manufacturing systems and organisations.

In 2004 he joined the Wellington Institute of Technology as Director – Innovative Manufacturing to provide a direct link between the Institute and the local manufacturing sector. His work in this area contributed to the creation of WelTec Connect Ltd in 2010.

Now responsible for Smart Product services, Paul works directly with innovators, engineers and companies to assist them to create globally competitive products by linking them with resources and expertise both within the Institution and outside.
